This Summer, Catch Up on Neglected TV Series

Share

(Newser) – As the American Idol dust clears and you resign yourself to never understanding Lost, TV's fallow season looms, just begging you to catch up on some excellent viewing you might have missed. NPR blogger Linda Holmes has some suggestions:

  • Mad Men"Works very well when you can grab it on DVD and watch it in long, meditative stretches." Season two drops July 14.

  • NewsRadio or Arrested Development: As "strong of an era as we're in for drama, it's a tough one for comedy." Hit Hulu to relive the not-so-long-ago glory days of these warped sitcoms.
  • Party Down: The obscure, raunchy sitcom airs on Starz. "Give it a shot if you aren't put off by the TV-MA rating."

This inspired bit of lunacy from "Arrested Development" will make a lot more sense after you catch up on viewing the series.   (hulu.com)

If NPR cannot survive as a commercial enterprise, why do my tax dollars have to support it? Reply

If--unlike the first Gulf War--this Gulf War doesn't pay for itself, why do my tax dollar have to support it? The WAR is a LOT more expensive. I prefer Garrison Kellor to the deaths of nearly 5,000 American military personnel. Reply
