GOP Rep. Blasts RNC Video Linking Pelosi, Pussy Galore

Share

(Newser) – A Republican congressman tells Politico that a new RNC video depicting Nancy Pelosi as Pussy Galore is "reprehensible, irresponsible and unpersuasive." Utah's Jason Chaffetz says the GOP must "get away from the politics of personal destruction." The video, which juxtaposes Pelosi with the infamous James Bond villain, is meant to demonstrate Pelosi's "lack of leadership" in her current spat with the CIA, the RNC explains.

"Policy and public comments are fair game, and there are creative ways to amplify it, but I despise it when Democrats and organizations like MoveOn.org use these types of tactics," Chaffetz said. "I would like our party to be more consistent in calling out inappropriate behavior like this. We've got to show some leadership and get serious about the issues at hand."

One more thing causing Republicans to loose at the polls all these personal attacks and wanting the Democrats to fail as they so aptly phrased it Reply

First the resurrection of the infamous "daisy ad", now this. It would be nice to know what scum bag advertising agency is responsible for this. Obviously their ChairMAN of STEELE must have given his approval. Reply

The ad is not actually so bad, but it does highlight something I've not focused on so clearly heretofore. The attitude behind the republicans is one of constant criticism of nearly everything Obama does -- even when it is continuing the policies of Bush in the case of the Federal Bailout and Stimulus Plan. Unless Obama contradicts the will of the Liberals (as in the reversal on the release of the full torture photos), the Republicans use the best caricature they can come up with to taunt the Democrats and rally the Republican's own "base". It is predictable and more importantly -- mindless. ....................... I'm left wondering how to best counteract this . . . The only thing that comes to mind is a refusal to engage the Republicans where they insist on fighting this -- in the gutter. It is not so important what the Republicans say at any one moment. It's all smoke and mirrors and talking pints anyway. What *is* important is that they are not willing to open their minds, discuss the issues frankly., and most importantly, think for themselves. "Dittoheads" should be a Scarlet Letter [sic] on the bosom of the Republicans. An the abject failure of Reagan and Bush to shrink the budget a clarion call to the wise, the pragmatic leaders in waiting, that the Republican Party is not what it seems. It cannot even make progress toward its most basic principle of fiscal responsibility. ......................... The Religious right are not going to bolt from the party. You guys and gals have created a monster, a mob, in giving any respect to Rush Limbaugh and his ilk. The mob does not respond rationally to logic or pressure. The rest of you -- you conservatives and libertarians -- you must decide to exit. Leave the Republican Party to the vultures that were left to hang on too long. 'The Party of No' is not a ship worthy to sail on. For the good of America, do something and stop dissembling! Reply
