(Newser) – Stocks barely budged at the open today, with the Dow down less than 20 points, the Nasdaq down 0.4% and the S&P flat. General Motors sunk 17% on news of its near-certain bankruptcy, as did its parts suppliers. Bank of America, meanwhile, saw shares rise more than 4%. Stocks are expected to move more in response to existing-home sales data, due at 10am.
