Pals are giddy for Oksana

(Newser) – Mel Gibson is allowing girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva to “do what she does best: be a mom and play piano,” friends tell People in a profile of the much-discussed couple. “We’re very happy for her. She was trying to make it and now she has. She wins,” says one friend, while another adds that it’s “very important to Oksana that Mel and her son bond.”

“She’s found the greatest thing in life, someone to take care of her and a father to her children,” a friend adds. The two spend most of their days working and most of their nights together, although they sleep at separate houses. Oksana also still sees Timothy Dalton, her son’s father. “They parted on good terms,” her mother says.

(NEWSER) - Oksana Grigorieva recounted to Larry King last night how Mel Gibson "hit me, and choked me in front of my son, and brandished a gun at me." Grigorieva and King listened to one of the infamous taped conversations between Gibson and his babymama, and Grigorieva told King that "Mel actually assaulted me while I was holding the baby in my arms."
