Fla. Teacher Cops to Sex With Boy, 15; Mom Approves

(Newser) – A teacher at a Florida private school has resigned and been charged with sexual battery of a child for allegedly carrying on an affair with a 15-year-old student, the Miami Herald reports. Maria Hernandez, 32, was arrested upon the pair's return from Disney World and admitted to sleeping with the boy, sometimes at his mother's place. The mom is under investigation for approving of the relationship.

Do you really? What if it were reversed genders? teen boys don't complain about sexual contact with adult females. That does not mean that they are not affect adversely. I worked with teen boys for years. My experience is that the earlier boys have sex, the more trouble they have later with relationships. Having an adult relationship is, of course, much harder than having sex. Learning to deal with the difference is part of the job of becoming an adult. Reply

I agree, this story would take an entirely different turn if this was a teacher and a 15 year old girl. We will see what the punishment is, and if there are protests for equal rights in all areas. This woman should get the same sentence that a man would get if the situation was reversed. This will not happen but it should.
