A woman who insisted on trying to hand a letter to President Obama today got a special delivery courtesy of LAX airport security instead. Brenda Lee, 58, was carried away from the press area of the airport just before Air Force One touched down, reports the Orange County Register. Lee, a self-described Catholic priestess, wanted to give Obama a letter urging him to defend traditional marriage before her spat with security.

Lee, who writes a column for an independent black newspaper in Georgia called the Informer, initially tried to give her letter to a Secret Service agent, but he handed it back. Another staffer asked to see it, then called security after he and Lee argued and she refused to surrender it. "The person who came to get the letter was, in my opinion, gay," Lee said. "That's why he acted that way." (More Brenda Lee stories.)
