North Korea Fires 6th Missile: Report

Tensions rise further as Pyongyang warns of 'self-defense'

Share

(Newser) – North Korea has fired yet another short-range missile off its east coast, according to reports from a South Korean news agency. Although unconfirmed, the launch would be the sixth missile that the North has test-fired since its surprise nuclear test on Monday. Today Pyongyang warned it would take "self-defense" actions if the UN Security Council imposed further sanctions against the regime.

I hate to sound like a typical American asshole-cowboy type, but fuck a bunch of North Korea. What exactly are they hoping to gain here? It's 2009, stop being pricks for the sake of being pricks. You're a bunch of pricks, we get it, settle down now. Reply

They just want our attention so they can get more bargaining chips for negotiations. They have no other leverage so they resort to these tactics. The media swarms like flies on shit with this kind of stuff, assuring N Korea that the tactic will work.

Why do you have to begin your statement on the aggression of NK with such a stupid negative statement against the United States? The fact is, the world hates the US to play global policeman until they don't do it, then they want us to come and do something. If you doubt this look to Clinton's action in Eastern Europe. He said the eastern European issues were European problems, and then they decried us for not going in. Then the moment we went in they attacked us for involving ourselves. It’s the same thing here; please don't play that game with them. Reply

NK is a danger if in fact they have built reliable nukes. I doubt if they have the sophistication to really do it. What proof do we have that this is actually true? To say that they blasted a "surprise" nuke test seems suspicious. Our monitoring capabilities are is so good that we should know when Kim Jung sneezes. Do not kid yourselves. We can waste these freaks in a moment's notice. We know every inch of their infrastructure. If we don't know the facts to the tiniest detail, the military, NSA and CIA are derelict in their duty. What is the truth here? Reply
