You Broke Promises, Obama: Now Quit

(Newser) – That jarring thud you just heard was Obamania crashing back to earth. For reneging on promises and making "Bill Clinton look like a paragon of integrity," President Obama must quit his post, Ted Rall writes in the Springfield Journal-Register. “Obama is useless. Worse than that, he’s dangerous,” Rall writes, eviscerating Obama's stance on the indefinite detention of Gitmo terror suspects.

“Obama wants to let government goons snatch you, me and anyone else they deem annoying off the street,” writes Rall, a syndicated columnist for Universal Press Syndicate who admits to voting for Obama. The president “is cute. He is charming. But there is something rotten inside him. He is a monster, and he should remove himself from power.”

Sorry- My allegiance goes to my family, my community and myself. When I see things which will hurt them, I cannot stand by silently and let it happen. That is why 6 million Jews died and 6 million Christians, gays, gypsies and anyone else who opposed Hitler died. If a robber has you by gunpoint, you will not wait until he is done before you try to protect yourself. There were 48% of voters who did not agree with his hope and change promise - and I am willing to bet that number is now @ 60%. Anyone who agrees with the wait and see idea while watching his country be destroyed is foolish.

There's a delightfully droll site called "Can we have a Do Over" or something like that which just supports the amount of buyer's remorse that is in the country today. He was voted in by 51% of the electorate and now has a @40% approval rating. Some drop. I can't wait until 2010. Then 2012. I fear that we will vote the same idiots into office again. The stimulus pakage has spent only 5% so far and loads of money will be pouring out in 2010 so that people can thank PaPa Obama. Oh, didn't they also call Stalin PaPa? And women sent Mussolini their wedding rings because he called for gold? Chavez has been on TV for 4 days? And we have had Obama in our faces every day since he's been elected. Doesn't anyone think that is strange? I think I'm back in Moscow looking at the huge posters of Lenin hanging everywhere.

(NEWSER) - Today is a birthday, but probably not one you want to celebrate: Guantanamo Bay is turning 10, an anniversary that will be marked by protests here and abroad. Ten years ago, the first 20 detainees were flown to the detention facility in chains. Several of those 20 remain at Gitmo today, NPR notes. Of the 171 detainees still held at Guantanamo, just 36 will likely be given a military trial. (NEWSER) - Bill Clinton thinks the country is "a mess" right now, and while he mostly blames conservatives' anti-government views, he also "gently dings" President Obama for some miscues in his new book, reports the AP . (NEWSER) - President Obama today reversed a two-year freeze on military prosecutions against Guantanamo Bay detainees, the AP reports. In an executive order, the president restarted the process of trying the high-risk detainees—the latest acknowledgment of the political difficulties of fulfilling his campaign promise to close the Cuban detention facility.
