A British millionaire sought in the murder of his Polish girlfriend in a tony Paris hotel tried to buy a cabin cruiser to flee, reports Times of London. Ian Griffin visited a British marina earlier this week after his girlfriend was found beaten to death and tried buy a vessel—but left because the process was taking too long. A friend has warned that Griffin, who is still on the lam, may now be at risk of suicide.

Griffin's wealthy lover Kinga Legg was found dead in their room at the Bristol hotel. “No weapon was used other than bits of furniture and fists,” said a French detective. The room was trashed, with furniture broken to bits and blood smeared on the walls. Police have impounded what appears to be Griffin's Porsche, which he used to flee the scene. It was found at his parents’ home.
