(Newser) – A principal suspect and his teenage half brother have been arrested in the New Jersey schoolyard executions of three college students in a crime that has shattered the Newark community. Nicaraguan immigrant Rodolfo Godinez, 24, and the teen were arrested in two separate apartments near Washington, D.C., and were preparing to flee the country, reports the Newark Star-Ledger.

The case has triggered concerns about lax treatment of illegal immigrants who break the law, the New York Times reports. Another suspect is an illegal immigrant who had been arrested in three other serious crimes yet had not been deported. The victims were forced to kneel and shot in the head In what Newark's mayor called a "heinous manifestation of evil."
