Ahmadinejad: Holocaust a 'Big Deception'

Share

(Newser) – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad today again denied the Holocaust and excoriated the concept of liberal democracy, AFP reports. “Liberal democracy has been exposed to the world by its protection of the most criminal regime in the history of humanity, the Zionist regime,” he said in a campaign speech, referencing Israel. That was accomplished, he said, “by using the big deception of the Holocaust.”

“The thoughts and the system of liberal regimes have lowered the benchmarks for human perfection,” Ahmadinejad said. “The liberal regimes cannot solve the simplest of the political issues in the world.” The Iranian president, who hopes to win another term in June 12 elections, suggested looking back. “The only way to replace the liberal thought is to go back to the teachings of the divine prophets.”

Is it a full moon or what? Bin Laden, Ahmadinejad... all we need is Kim Jong Il to say something monumentally stupid and we are 3 for 3 today. Reply

Fire up an oven at Auschwitz for Ahm-a-nut-job and have him try it out personally. I bet he changes his "big deception" mind very quickly. Reply

Not that I doubt the Holocaust, I have learned some of what I was taught in school about it is not accurate. IE, soap from human fat, lamp shades from human skin, car seat fabric from human hair, and massive burial pits. These four examples have been dis proven by the scientific community. The issue I have with the Holocaust is the lack of ability to research these events with international scientific scrutiny without being labeled a racist or anti-Semite. We humans have a natural tendency to question what we are taught, then run scientific studies and research to either prove or disprove what we have been taught. Yet the holocaust remains on of those events in history which we are not ALLOWED to openly scrutinize and question without being labeled, and unfortunately, that label can sink just about any prominent western career, thus preventing researcher from doing what humans do best, question, think, and learn. It is time we are allowed to research the claims made and allow the human race to gain as much truth as we can, from which we will learn much. Reply

Psycada, Clearly, you didn't learn enough in school as your diction is terrible. I'll ignore that issue and get right to the heart of your fallacious statement that we are not able to perform a "scientific inquiry" into the history of the Holocaust. First, history is the study deeds, acts, and occurances as seen through those who experienced them. History is the study of comparison between primary documentation of events. Conflicting reports of the efforts to exterminate not only Jews, but Gypsies, homosexuals, social outcasts, and mentally compromised men, women, and children taken by the Nazi regime DO NOT EXIST. I do not know where you live, what your background is nor level of education, but in the United States, you are allowed to question anything you desire. I would encourage you to better understand the arguments that sway you from honesty. Speak with survivors first hand. Inspect their ID numbers tatooed by force on the inside of their left forearms. Ask them about their families that disappead when the Gestapo or SS knocked on their doors in the middle of the night. Stop googling "fake holocaust" and start critically analyzing the motives of those who disseminate false or skewed information. Everyone has an agenda, and the only way to interpret a source is to use their agenda from the get-go. You leave yourself an easy out by preempting someone who disagrees with you by saying "...one of those events...we are not allowed to openly scrutinize and question without being labled..." This is disappointing and frustrating, because it hinders the dialog and "scrutiny" you oh-so-desire and furthermore confirms you inability and unwilingness to "...do what humans do best, question, think, and learn." Some people are content to believe what others tell them, either because it sounds nice, or fluffs their ego. Psycada, I think, brings his/her sincere convictions to point in this post, but without proper forethought or research beforehand. While you might think you sound intelligent, Psycada, by suggesting that the world question its sources regarding the nature of the Holocaust, you nonetheless confirm your ignorance and mental youth by failing to perform that which you so dearly and passionately suggest we all do: "...research the claims made and...gain as much truth as [you] can." Someone just got TOLD. snap.
