(NEWSER) - Another student GOP leader is in big trouble for being tasteless in Texas. "My president's black, he snorts a lot of crack," tweeted Cassandra Wright, president of the University of Texas College Republicans. Wright's predecessor, Lauren Pierce, just stepped down last month after she tweeted that it might be "tempting" to shoot the president, launching a boatload of criticism. (NEWSER) - Who do you find sexier: Playboy bunnies or Brian Williams? If you went with the former you're out of luck, because NBC's 10pm EDT Monday time slot is about to be filled by the latter. The Playboy Club has officially become the first cancellation of the fall season. A slim three episodes aired, the last of which drew a paltry 3.5 million viewers. Rock Center will air in its place, and no, that's not a show about rock-hard bodies. The Williams-helmed newsmagazine will debut on Halloween night, and will feature Harry Smith and Kate Snow as correspondents, along with Meredith Vieira, Matt Lauer, and Ann Curry. (NEWSER) - Drug-addled-rocker-cum-evangelical-radio-host Bradlee Dean has won many conservative fans, the New York Times reports. One is apparently Michele Bachmann. She has spoken on Dean's show, but keeps the connection low-profile—perhaps because Dean has commented on executing gays, and says President Obama has done more harm to America than Osama bin Laden. Still, Dean has proven his political allegiance by suing NBC, MSNBC, Rachel Maddow, and others for "willfully and maliciously" harming Bachmann's campaign. More»

(NEWSER) - President Obama’s campaign has set up a new take on its old “Fight the Smears” concept… only this time it’s a lot less friendly looking. Gone is the white-and-blue motif, replaced with an ominous red-and-black site called " Attack Watch "—and conservatives appear to find it hilarious. Seemingly every tweet using the suggested #attackwatch tag has been a conservative either mocking the site, or decrying it as a scary Big Brother exercise, the Wall Street Journal reports, offering examples:

• “@thorninaz I saw someone purposely squeeze the Charmin in the grocery store”
• “@Drill_Thrawl Hey Kids, are mommy and daddy talking bad about Obama? Be sure to report them at #attackwatch #1984"

NBC affiliates in Milwaukee and Green Bay to skip address, senator has Saints party
