HuffPo Scrubs Vid of Drunk Israelis' Obama Rants

(Newser) – The Huffington Post censored a video of young people in Israel using using racial slurs to attack President Obama, and Gawker wants to know why. Max Blumenthal, who shot the film, says a HuffPost administrator told him the clip lacked “any real news value.” Notes Blumenthal: “For the first time, the premier clearinghouse for online news and opinions had suppressed one of my posts.”

“For me it only proves that one can find drunk people willing to say just about anything,” Blumenthal quoted the HuffPost administrator as saying. Writing for Gawker, Foster Kamer observes that the HuffPost’s decision could be a “political maneuver” or an “agenda-based” move. But, he concludes, “it's probably the equivalent of some tight-assed S & P person over there who thinks they're taking the initiative with their job ... What would Ariana think?”

Surprised it made it on Newser?? A place that has articles on Britney Spears having a period and donut shops ratcheting up marketing spending and your surprised? Come on. As far as the video, in my opinion it was one powerful piece of anti semitic propaganda. The questions were loaded, the backdrop was biased, the participants were wasted. Id be pissed if some A hole came to my community and specifically hung out at the nightclubs and bars to get "words of wisdom" from a most likely undereducated, intoxicated, group of idiots.

@PaleRider First of all using the NYPost as a source is as ridiculous as using The Globe or The Examiner. Secondly I would direct your attention, you might have to read some big words so don't be scared, to... http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/does_the_stimulus_bill_include_a_52.html which will explain in great detail why you're wrong. My advice, next time when you use "the Google" try to dig a little deeper than just the Rethuglican talking point web sites on the first few pages that way you won't come off as idiotic and semi-literate.

I just goes to show that some of them were putting on a show for their friends. While the others were really being truthful. The video was total propaganda nonsense. These kids don't have any real understanding of politics or history, if anything it proves that we need better history and social studies classes in our high schools, because these kids clearly aren't going to their classes in college. Oh yeah, and being drunk might release your inhibitions effectively bringing out the truth, but having a camera in your face equally reverses the effect making you say whatever provocative thought might get you on the tube. I'm glad they censored the video, they should have done it from the beginning. Reply

Gee, more 'facts' posted by the Saudi funded Arab lobby smearing Israel and whining about the 'Israel Lobby;. I guess the fact that the money must be spent in the US is not a string. Or that Israel was told not to act n its national interest and retaliate when Sadaam launched rockets at its citizens, or hundreds of other examples. No, the anti-Israelites take EVERY disagreement and try to paint it as the Ultimate betrayal, as if all allies agee on everything. More like they expect Israel not to be an ally, but a puppet on a string instead of what the US military knows them to be - our only reliable ally in a dangerous and important part of the world. I'll get some drunk Muslim teens to say "death to Israel", and it'll be ok, because they are not political science majors. That's ok? Look beyond the obvious. Yes these are rowdy college kids that prolly have very little insight into politics, maybe. Where do you think these kids get THEIR opinions from? Just like Abu Grahb and Gitmo could not have been perpetrated by Lindsay England and the other scape goats, that trail lead all the way to the top. But there is a huge difference between drunk teenagers making stupid and racist comments and the not drunk and not teens who DO scream Death to Israel each and every week in mosques throughout the Middle East and teach their children abject hate and lies. I have no problem with this video as long as its kept in perspective. Over 80% of Israels support a two state solution. Over 70% of Palestinians think armed attacks on Israel should continue even after a settlement. Much as people want to create equvocacies, there are real and stark differences.
