Javier Bardem is in talks to join Julia Roberts in the film adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert's bestselling memoir Eat, Pray, Love, reports Variety. Roberts is slated to play the author, and Bardem would play love interest Felipe, whom the real-life Gilbert eventually married. Brad Pitt is producing. Elsewhere:

  • Britney Spears hit the London club scene after her gig at O2 World. The troubled pop star was at club Maddox until 12:30am, the Sun reports.
  • Geneva police confirmed that singer Pete Doherty has been fined for drug use in Switzerland. He was holed up in an airplane bathroom where flight attendants later found a syringe, the Evening Standard reports.
  • Angelina Jolie may give in to Brad Pitt's wish to marry to curtail rumors that their relationship has been strained. The couple is considering a summer wedding in New Orleans, a source tells the Daily Mirror.
