Jon & Kate Ratings Slip-Slidin' Away

(Newser) – Fans may be enthralled with Jon and Kate Gosselin's marital trouble, but they appear to be rapidly growing bored with their TV series, reports Radar. Audience figures for Jon & Kate Plus 8 plunged by more than half this week from an all-time high of 10 million for the season opener. Monday's program was a bit of a special, too, marking the program's 100th episode, that featured chef Emeril Lagasse cooking with 8 kids.

Self-described "huge" fan Tori Spelling is disappointed the series has "gone to an odd place," she told Entertainment Weekly. "I loved the fact that they were a normal family. It’s hard for me now to see them on the cover of People magazine."

One of the compelling things about this show was the human side of a couple and family coping with the stress of kids - and a lot of them! My daughter and wife used to watch it together - before the drama... As soon as they went Hollywood, they lost that genuineness. They had no idea what their demographic was - it was never the same people that watch E! News...and now they've moved on. Reply
