Krauthammer Hails Fox News as 'Alternate Reality'

Krauthammer calls network an American treasure

(Newser) – The New York Post awarded Charles Krauthammer a prize yesterday, and the veteran neocon columnist used his acceptance speech to praise "the genius of Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes" for the miracle of Fox News. The network "created an alternate reality," he said, offering an alternative to "news delivered beneath layer after layer of often undisguised liberalism."

For Krauthammer, Fox News is so resented because "it altered the intellectual and ideological landscape of America," legitimizing viewpoints that the mainstream media thought discredited. The columnist wasn't just praising the Post's News Corp. stablemate. As he pointed out, he himself appears on the network's 6 o'clock newscast—which he didn't hesitate to call "the single best news program on American television."

And the saddest thing is that the most angry are poor white men and women, disenfranchised because they didn't believe education was important. The RICH WHITE used them to get votes due to their fear of blacks.

For Krauthammer, Fox News is so resented because "it molested the intellectual and ideological landscape of America by dumbing down even the simplest of points with obfuscation and disinformation and made even the most politically apathetic moron feel like a political junkie," legitimizing viewpoints that even morons like the mainstream media had thoroughly discredited.

Citrix has a point in that it was the rise of radial Liberalism that initially forced people to leave the Democratic party and become the "new' conservatives. My point is that none of this is relevant as long as we are the 'we' to their they. And I don't even care who they is; I just want it to be us.
