Death Threats Spook Chris Brown

Share

(Newser) – Chris Brown has beefed up his security detail after receiving death threats over his alleged beating of ex Rihanna, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Insiders say Brown is surrounded at all times by three beefy bodyguards and three or four “incognito” protectors who are often women “easily as tough as any man.” Authorities think the “group” threatening the singer might actually be a single person.

The threats are addressed from the “Women’s Protection Action League.” Insiders say the threats are definitely tied to the singer’s alleged attack on Rihanna. Brown is said to be “totally paranoid” about an attempt on his life, as evidenced by the robust protection detail. There are also hints that the assassin could be disguised as a paparazzo, whom Brown assiduously avoids.

Perhaps Mr. Brown's story will do more to combat the violent, misogynistic lyrics of gangsta and hip-hop music than anything else could. Reply

But he didn't sing about guns or violence...he was the "club singer/ladies' man" type rapper.

I doubt it koku....the more "thugg" you are the more "cred" you have in that genre....the glorification of the "thugg" is something I never could relate too.....I was brought up not to reward bad behavior, but to discourage it Reply

But again, this is Chris Brown (he's basically Usher or the lead singer of any boy-band). This isn't like 50 Cent or Suge Knight is afraid for their lives. If anything, this only reinforces the idea that if you aren't a thug, you'll have to scamper around with your tail between your legs all the time.

I'm glad he is living in fear... I'm sure when he beats on a woman they are fearful as well... Reply
