Palin Ignored Leno's Crack on Bristol

Comic joked that John Edwards was babydaddy; no ruckus

(Newser) – A late-night comic cracking a joke about an adult man getting an underage Palin daughter pregnant? Sounds like perfect fodder for the former vice-presidential candidate's outrage... except there was no outcry, points out Alan Colmes' Liberaland. Back in September, Jay Leno joked that the philandering John Edwards had something to do with Bristol's pregnancy, and the GOP (and blogosphere) remained quiet.

“Gov. Palin announced over the weekend that her 17-year-old unmarried daughter is five months pregnant. And you thought John Edwards was in trouble before! Now he has really done it,” Leno joked.

Sarah Palin seems to be more sensitive to barbs from David Letterman than fellow late-night comedian Jay Leno.

If the Palin people didn't make a stink about Letterman I would not have known just like I didn't know that Leno made his joke. Reply

This is just another poor attempt by Govenor Palin to stay in the publics view. O'brien made jokes abotu her daughter also, but none of Palin's people brought that up either. Reply

I think it's because David Letterman wouldn't give Palin the fawning, soft-handed interview that Leno or Conan would.

No one cared about Leno's joke because it was probably boring and unfunny like all his other jokes. Reply

So the excuse is that since they didn't catch Leno's incident, they shouldn't be angry with Lettermen? While we're at it, let's just do away with speed limits and police officers, too, seeing as how so many people get away with speeding. Reply
