It wasn't exactly a throng, but a group of protesters showed up outside the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York today to urge CBS to dump David Letterman, reports the Daily News. "Fire Dave! Fire Dave!," chanted the group, which numbered about 50 at its max. Letterman, who has apologized to the Palins for his now infamous line, joked about his new status as villain (even his mom called) and issued the "Top Ten Things Overheard at the Fire David Letterman Rally," notes the AP.

On the list: "Well, it was nice of CBS to provide the catering" and "We should have done this years ago."
