Sacha Baron Cohen has partnered up with MySpace to promote his new film, Bruno, in a move that could help revive the struggling social networking site, Advertising Age reports. MySpace is hosting a movie site for the gay Austrian fashionista—MeinSpace—and the parent site has started running an unrestricted trailer. Cohen was convinced to strike the deal because Bruno could plausibly be into MySpace.

Though all involved were mum on its extent, a MySpace spokeswoman hinted at a deeper relationship. “There are a lot more layers to this,” she said. “The way Sacha works is he wants it to be a surprise.” Bruno has 330,000 “freunds” on MySpace, and a dedicated following on “Facebuch” and “Tvitter,” where he urges all to “check aus mein trailer!” The movie drops July 10.
