John McCain today called on President Obama to take a harder line against the Iranian regime, Politico reports. “This is a human rights issue—whether people can voice disagreement without being killed in the streets,” McCain told Face the Nation. “America’s position in the world is one of moral leadership. We have to be on the right side of history.”

Reform at home and in Iran dominated the talk on the Sunday shows this Father's Day:

  • Benjamin Netanyahu said a nuclear Iran would create a “tinderbox” in the Middle East. “This would be something that would endanger the peace of the world,” the Israeli premier told Meet the Press.
  • On State of the Union, senators of both parties urged Obama to delay his ambitious health care reform plan. “There’s a lot of concern in the Democratic caucus,” said Diane Feinstein.
  • Also on NBC, former Sen. Sam Nunn said it’s time to “take another look” at Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, but added, “It ought to be done carefully.”
  • On Fox News Sunday, McCain also took time to offer advice to fellow fathers: “Enjoy every moment with [your children], because they all grow so fast and you'll have some of the best memories of the time you had with them.”
