Racer Kurt Busch took the checkered flag at the 3M Performance 400 in Michigan yesterday after rain delays bumped the race from its usual Sunday spot. The afternoon had no shortage of oddities, starting with a half-hour fog delay and ending with a two-lap overtime sprint due to Greg Biffle's spin out near the finish.
Busch bested Martin Treux in the sprint to earn his second win in three races. No. 12 is making a serious run in the Nextel Cup standings, climbing to 12th place, though still 855 points behind leader Jeff Gordon. Meanwhile, Gordon suffered damage to his No. 24 and finished 27th, while pit-stop woes again busted Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s shot at a top-10 finish.
