(Newser) – The engagement rumors about Prince William and Kate Middleton just keep on coming, fueled most recently by the retreat they plan to attend, the News of the World reports. Middleton will join the queen for her traditional hunting trip to Scotland for the first time.

“Kate loves shooting so she will fit in well with the royal family,” a source said. Work on a royal estate, which the couple could live in, also fueled rumors, the Herald Sun reports. One French tabloid even reported the prince had already proposed.

However, if you were hoping to find out what they're calling the puppy, prepare to be disappointed. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have strictly instructed aides not to reveal his name, the Daily Mail reports. Says a spokesperson, "He is a private pet and they do not want his name to be made public although the couple are happy to confirm that they do, indeed, have a new dog." (NEWSER) - The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge reportedly have a new bundle of joy, but it's a bit more furry than the one diehard royal watchers were hoping for. Prince William has given Kate Middleton a Labrador retriever puppy, reports the Mirror , likely for her 30th birthday. “The dog is ever so cute,” a "source" tells the tabloid. “The Duke and Duchess have been seen with it several times and he runs along at their heels. (NEWSER) - Britain's Prince Philip remained hospitalized today, recovering from coronary stenting , but the royal show must go on, and so it did: Queen Elizabeth and her entire brood attracted throngs of Brits as they attended Christmas services this morning at the queen's retreat in Sandringham. Kate, in her first Christmas as Duchess of Cambridge, likely boosted the number of watchers, notes People, and impressed in an eggplant-colored coat and hat. Royal family member may testify in robbery case

(NEWSER) - Prince Harry may testify in a case involving a friend whose cell phone was allegedly stolen late last month, ABC News reports. Harry was on the phone with buddy Thomas van Straubenzee on Nov. 30 when Harry overheard his friend's cell being robbed. Harry drove to south-west London looking for von Staubenzee and eventually reported the crime to a nearby police station. More»
