In Prison Visit, Ex Closed Book on Markoff

(Newser) – Philip Markoff’s ex-fiancée visited the accused “Craigslist killer” in jail two weeks ago to say goodbye, the Boston Herald reports. Megan McAllister told Markoff “that in all likelihood she would not be coming back to Boston," her lawyer said today, adding that though McAllister had originally stood by Markoff, she was alarmed by the facts coming to light.

Yesterday’s arraignment was a revelation for McAllister. “The facts that were brought forth in court yesterday were disturbing to her,” the lawyer said. The final meeting earlier this month was very “emotional,” and McAllister still holds out some hope for Markoff. “She loved the person that she knew,” the lawyer told NBC. “But ultimately, time and a court of law will decide whether or not that’s the real Philip Markoff.”

Agreed. She was doing the "stand by your man" part and doing it very well at first. Can't blame her for getting spooked. I just wish her the best with her future relationships as this situation just probably screwed the next man or two in her life.

She has to be more shocked than anyone. I can understand her turmoil of what to do. He isn't who she thought he was and probably had a hard time believing it. I'm sure she is going to have emotional damage over this.

She sounds like a classy young woman. I pray the "media" will leave her the hell alone in the future.
