Rihanna, Chris Want to Get Closer

Plus, director dishes on 'handsome' JFK, and more

(Newser) – Rihanna doesn’t want any protection from Chris Brown—the pair think the court’s no-contact clause is “unnecessary and ridiculous,” a source tells the New York Daily News, adding that even though “they aren't looking to hook back up,” they’re “solid” now as friends. Elsewhere:

  • Director Nora Ephron was once a  White House intern, reports the New York Post. Her one regret from that stint? “I totally regret not having had an affair with” then-President Kennedy, she tells More magazine.

  • Eliot Spitzer’s photo was removed from the walls of Washington’s National Press Club, but not because of his scandal, the New York Post reports. Au contraire: “We actually left Spitzer up a lot longer because he disgraced himself and was such a point of interest,” a spokesperson says.
  • Oprah Winfrey’s employees were probably delighted to be treated to a 10-day luxury cruise through the Mediterranean—but they may not be so happy if a tax bill of “over $1,000 per person” arrives. Experts tell the Post that’s exactly what could happen, because the IRS may not consider an employer-to-employee transaction a gift.

Whatever Rihanna, the first time it was Chris's fault, the second time it will be yours. Hey, a 10 day luxury med cruise for a thousand bucks....worth it :) Reply
