Judge Gives Jacko's Mom Temporary Custody of Kids

(Newser) – A Los Angeles judge today gave Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine, temporary custody of the late singer’s three children, the AP reports. Katherine Jackson was not, however, given guardianship of the children’s estate. A hearing is scheduled Aug. 3 to determine permanent arrangements. “We’re not trying to get custody,” Jackson’s father, Joe, told CNN. “We will get custody and have custody.”

One of the more decent things Jackson did was to name his mother as the guardian for his children - unfortunately her age will be a factor. Poor Diana Ross being named as the alternate - I assume she wants nothing to do with these children. Depending on how stable their lifestyles are, maybe Jermaine or one of the other brothers would have made better guardians. Forget the two Jackson sisters, they've got serious problems of themselves. It'll be interesting where this will go.

You do realize that the Jackson parents are still married, but not living with each other don't you lumina? The Jacksons are Jehovah's Witnesses, they can't divorce unless it's for adultery, so Katherine would be raising them herself, which in iteslf isn't a wise move because of her age.

Rowe was just an overpaid uterus, no more no less. Of all the women Jackson could have had, why an ugly dumpling like her? I always knew there was something wrong with the boy. She's admitted that she has no emmotional ties to the children. I feel Michael's parents are the best qualified folks to take care of the children. I can just see Joe Jackson chasing Prince around the house with a belt when he gets out of line. That worked for me and my sisters since it kept us straight - we thanked our dad once we older (no kidding).
