Most Repulsive Reality TV Shows

(Newser) – Reality shows throw anyone who signs a waiver onto TV. Some have higher aspirations, but most rest solidly in "How low can they go?" territory. Annie Barrett of Entertainment Weekly looks at 35 of the most appalling reality TV shows.

  • Jail:  A new low from the guys behind Cops. At least OJ had a cameo.
  • Kid Nation:  Puberty gone south—literally and figuratively.
  • The Anna Nicole Smith Show: Like Paula Abdul's show, "but with less talent and more poodle-on-furniture humping."

  • Temptation Island: Might as well watch porn
  • Big Brother: Basically The Real World. With prize money!
  • The Simple Life: A show whose theme was ''Do poor people suck or what?''
  • My Super Sweet 16: "Disgusting 15-year-old brats" who tragically think they're sexy.
  • Moment of Truth: Compromise your integrity, lose your friends, and get paid.
  • Jerry Springer: Did Jerry inspire these new lows?

if you click the link to the full article and see all 35 and on the right hand side there a link titled ' 20 best reality Tv shows ever ' from EW as well on which at least 4 of the shows are also listed. All reality shows are brainless anyway and even though they found my niche ( Hells Kitchen US & Apprentice UK ) really they just encourage a sort of emotional involvement with people that you would never associate with even if it is hate. This can't be good for our collective unconscious can it ? Making us pay a higher psychic price than we imagine.... or something. My attention span's - oooh a shiny thing. Reply

"Temptation Island: Might as well watch porn"...HEY, that was educational TV and as for Springer, he kept the Trailer Parks in Kentucky as well as Ohio in beer money at least LOL ... Ah yes, educational TV, what more does one need. Reply

Reality shows are in my opinion pretty much all garbage. I can honestly say that I don't regularly watch any of them. I have seen a few of them from time to time and each time I realize why I don't watch them. They seem to just promote conflict and drama which in turn brings out the worst in people. Most of the time I just find them disturbing and disgusting. Reply
