7 Detroit Teens Shot; 3 Critically Injured

(Newser) – "You know who we're looking for." With that, two gunmen in ski masks opened fire on a group of teenagers waiting at a bus stop in Detroit, hitting seven of them and leaving three critically injured, reports the Detroit News. Witnesses say the shooting may be the extension of an earlier argument at a nearby school for ninth-graders.

“I was standing at the bus stop next to him,” said one student who saw a friend get shot. “That bullet came too close. I’m not coming back to this school.” The two gunmen drove away in a minivan and remain at large. The three most seriously injured teens are two boys, ages 14 and 16, and a 17-year-old girl.

Typical summers day in Detroit Michigan where you can hire a professional hit man for under $50.00 and he comes with references from cop's, well I take that back, the cop that would have provided the letter of reference hung himself rather than face trial for hiring the guy to kill the cops wife. Honestly I am unsure, Detroit is usually # 2 or #3 in the nation with violent crimes and has made # 1 a few times with murder also about the same, usually in the top 5 at least. You would think that was a good thing the way people react. Flint took #1 for murders 3 years ago and Detroit as well as Saginaw MI did all they could to reclaim the dubious honor....

What a tragedy... Unfortunately the desperation indicated in reality of $50 hit men may be a reality in many more states if things don't begin to look up... Reply
