South Carolina 'Serial Killer' Claims 5th Victim

(Newser) – A suspected South Carolina serial killer claimed his fifth victim today when a teenage girl died in hospital, the Gaffney Ledger reports. Like her father and four other victims, Abbey Tyler, 15, was found shot earlier this week in Gaffney, SC. Police say the killings are linked. Scared residents say they are avoiding July 4th celebrations for their own safety as dozens of investigators, some state and federal, work the case.

A criminal can always find a weapon/gun whether outlawed or not. At times like these I think EVERY citizen should be armed and blow the bastage away that dares harm my family. I think I have expressed my feelings toward this low life predator as well as the one's who would take protection from the hands of the privacy of the home thus stripping away any real protection one might have had at the time of such an incident. May the victims rest in peace and may this animal soon be stopped. Reply

It can be hard on Newser to find someone else willing to back our right to self protection. We don't agree on every issue, but I'm glad you made this comment.

i think every citizen should have a rifle, and handguns should be outlawed. my problem is with everyone wanting handguns and assault rifles,,,not to mention the ease anyone has to actually purchase a weapon...seriously, who just has to have that gun, that day?
