Questions Linger in Wake of Memorial

How much it will cost? Where is his body? And what caused his death?

Share

(Newser) – Fans are donating to the city of Los Angeles in an effort to defray the cost of Michael Jackson’s memorial, E! reports. The final total is still in the works, and some famous friends and corporate sponsors are rumored to have donated generously. More from the aftermath:

  • Los Angeles could break even, an economist tells the AP, thanks to the tourists who flocked to the city for the memorial, bringing in an estimated $4 million.

  • The whereabouts of Jackson’s body were unknown last night, the Sun reports. Though he was expected to be buried at Forest Lawn cemetery, his body was never transported there, and some now speculate his family will bury him in a secret location. Others contend he's already been buried, and the casket at his memorial was empty.
  • Jackson’s death certificate has been released, but the cause of death is listed as “deferred.” Investigators are still testing his brain, and the family may wait until it is returned before burying him. “The last I heard, they are not burying the body yet,” the assistant chief coroner tells the AP.

"Questions Linger in Wake of Memorial" but only in a Press who will refuse to allow someone to rest in peace as well as the greedy who wish to rape and pillage all they are able along with a spoonful of bigots who simply can't stand the fact that a rich eccentric loved his kids above all else. exactly...let him rest and the children heal. Screw the rest of it, let it go. If a law was broken let the law do it without a cheerleading squad who usually tain a case beyond prosecution
