It's Official: Burris Won't Run

Share

(Newser) – Roland Burris made it official this afternoon: He won't run for a full term next year, the Chicago Tribune reports. “I love serving the people of Illinois,” the current holder of President Obama's old Senate seat said. But “political races have become far too expensive in this country. And in making this decision, I was called to choose between spending my time raising funds or spending my time raising issues for my state.”

You're such a tool. Doesn't your mom get mad that you spend all day in the basement on the internets?

C_k, Sometimes you have very valid observations, but much of the time, you simply appear to toss a grenade into the crowd - That's seemingly pointless, unless it give you wood somehow. Your cynicism only goes so far; I understand your twisted humor and attempts to entice battle, duels with steeped controversy - But please understand, many don't get your spin. If anything, you have a tendency to be so extreme, its hard to believe even you would truly embrace some of the things you say. Be a bit more humoris, expand your forte with regard to words you use to lambast the Centrists and those to the Left - You're using a computer; use the thesaurus. And BTW - Burris has too much baggage; I agree, but it seems everyone from Illinois has a jaded past - Repub or Demo. I guess it's the cost of doing politics. I'm curious as to what you thought of the WSJ piece on Palin today...

Dr, don't get sucked into to a ploy; you're far too savvy for that. I too loose my cool, but that's exactly what C_k is shooting for. As mentioned above, I don't believe C_k is that twisted... I believe he likes to f*ck with peoples head's and create heated contiversy, sparring. We all get our buzz from something, somewhere... Think about it - Based on C-k's gilded approach and responses; In some ways, he's like a Don Rickles - you can't win. But there are times when C_k does come down to Earth. You and Kokuaguy represent some of the most grounded perspectives presented here on Newser. Your way of looking at topics and finding humor within, a real treat.

This is exactly what I meant - Its simply humor that touches a nerve. In this case, analogous to a frik'n root-canal.
