(Newser) – Often labeled “the third one” in Destiny’s Child, Michelle Williams is swinging the spotlight her way, the Independent reports, playing Roxy in a production of Chicago in London’s West End. “People just think I’m the quiet one. Or not talented,” Williams says of comparisons to ex-bandmates Beyoncé Knowles and Kelly Rowland. “Well, I wouldn’t be in the West End if I wasn’t talented, dummy!”

While Beyoncé tops the charts and Rowland rocks London’s clubs, Williams, 29, has released three albums, started a YouTube video-diary series, and acted onstage. While she’s lost the celeb clout that came with Destiny’s Child, she’s not too concerned about it. “If I took it so seriously, I’d be in a hospital somewhere” recovering from the group’s split, she says.
