Palin: Scrap Cap and Trade; It's Still Drill, Baby, Drill

(Newser) – President Obama's cap-and-trade energy plan is actually a "cap-and-tax" plan that is an "enormous threat to our economy," Sarah Palin writes in the Washington Post. In an op-ed piece she predicts will disappoint "the chattering class," who prefer "personality-driven political gossip," she says fighting this bill will be a priority for her. We need energy policy reform, she says. "But the answer doesn't lie in making energy scarcer and more expensive!"

Instead of forcing the price of energy up and increasing our reliance on other countries with laxer environmental laws, it is better to tap into the reserves found offshore and in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, writes the outgoing Alaska governor. "We are ripe for economic growth and energy independence if we responsibly tap the resources that God created right underfoot on American soil," she concludes.

Do we want to control our energy supply and its environmental impact? Or, do we want to outsource it to China, Russia and Saudi Arabia? Make no mistake: President Obama's plan will result in the latter. - Sarah Palin

There is no denying that as the world becomes more industrialized, we need to reform our energy policy and become less dependent on foreign energy sources. But the answer doesn't lie in making energy scarcer and more expensive!
- Sarah Palin

Nelly: You've just insulted millions of American women who followed the same path to a college degree Palin did. She was an adult: wife, mother, student, worker - juggling all these roles. Plus she moved around so attended 5 schools. Obama admits that he regrets his college years because he spent them partying, drinking and drugging. We have NO idea of his grades, do we? He went out to buy recreational drugs. He was a "typical" college kid. She was an adult. We have a college in CT - Charter Oak College - which takes the courses a student has taken from other schools and creates a program which will end in a degree. It is a blessing for returning women and military who have taken courses while stationed at different bases but were never at one long enough to finish the degree. So, please apologize to to those adults who wanted a degree enough that they had to juggle their roles in order to get one. When Obama gives out his grades - for Occidental, Columbia or Yale, then you can criticize Palin. Let me know if you can find any articles Obama wrote while at Yale. They seem to be missing. Or non existent. Who knows?

Palin has led the charge for energy options. She's worked with Russia, China, and the other Arctic Circle countries with the Arctic Parliamentarians - an international group. They met in Alaska in August to discuss energy and health issues facing the Arctic Circle countries. She has had experience. I know some people are hooked on Alinsky's Rules for Radicals #5: ridicule the speaker to neutrlize the message but in this case you can't win IF you look at the facts. Of course, you can keep the blinders on and keep sipping the Kool Aid. I've carefully watched what she has done as Governor - monitored the state web site. You'd be impressed if you did. Of course, the main stream media will never publish the info. Check it out yourself.
