(Newser) – Debbie Rowe is giving up her custody fight against Michael Jackson’s mother—for the bargain price of $4 million, a family source tells the New York Post. “It’s one final payday,” the source says. “They felt it was like a ransom-type thing.” The biological mother of Jackson’s two elder children, who has received Jackson-related payouts twice before, will no longer be able to challenge custody arrangements.

The kids are better off without her in their lives if she doesn't want to be there anyway. The money is nothing, because if she would be getting money anyway just for being the mother of such famous kids. In fact, she would probably be getting much more money if she had custody of them, so the $4 million paltry, really.

You can all go back to bah'ing now: Debbie Rowe's lawyer just fired off a letter to the New York Post ... demanding a retraction of its story that Rowe has accepted $4 million to walk away from Michael Jackson's two eldest kids. The letter -- written by Rowe's lawyer Eric George -- says "Among the several contenders for overzealous and inaccurate sensationalism, the New York Post has now seized top honors." George says "Ms. Rowe has not accepted -- and will not accept -- any additional financial consideration beyond the spousal support she and Michael Jackson personally agreed to several years ago." This is a very significant statement and we've confirmed it with another Jackson source.

"Well folks, what do we have here? One of a kid children right here, 3 of them. Selling to the highest bidder, they'll bring you the media's attention for years to come! Do I hear a $2M... $2.5M...."
