(Newser) – So he's not Nolan Ryan. President Obama threw out the ceremonial first pitch tonight in the All-Star Game in passable fashion, writes Kevin Kernan in the New York Post. "He threw lefty and didn't have much heat on the looping toss, but Albert Pujols stepped up and made the catch before the ball hit the dirt." Obama, apparently pleased he avoided disaster, gave a little fist pump afterward.

(NEWSER) - She swears it's no joke, and Public Policy Polling is apparently taking Roseanne Barr's presidential run at face value. It included her in a new poll and found that she would draw 6% of the vote in a race against President Obama (47%) and Mitt Romney (42%). She did better than "undecided" at 5%. ThinkProgress says it's a sign that the polling agency has a sense of humor, but Green Party Watch —Roseanne is seeking that party's nomination—thinks it's clear that her "presidential bid has penetrated the veil of media silence."
