Unrepentant Teen Cops to Baking Cat to Death

A 17-year-old girl has pleaded guilty to baking her former roommate's cat to death in a 500° oven and will serve a year in jail, reports the New York Daily News. The girl and a younger accomplice trashed the woman's Bronx apartment, stole DVDs and food, and fled, leaving the cat to die. After the plea, Cheyenne Cherry stuck out her tongue at animal lovers protesting outside and snapped, "It's dead, bitch!"
This isn't the cat-killer's first animal crime; last year, she and her boyfriend used a BB gun to steal a Yorkie. Cherry will be sentenced later this month and, as part of her plea bargain, will not be allowed to keep a pet for 3 years. Her 14-year-old conspirator, who put the cat in the oven, is being tried in family court and has not been identified.
