Zell Miller: Use 'Gorilla Glue' on Obama

Says president is traveling too much, should stick to chair

(Newser) – Zell Miller, the former Georgia governor and senator, told a group of conservatives today that Rahm Emanuel should "get some Gorilla Glue" and use it to keep President Obama in his Oval Office chair, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Two black leaders who know Miller tell the AP they were not offended by the choice of words. "I ignore it," said one, the Rev. Joseph Lowery. "I consider the source and go about my business."

In his speech, Miller—a Democrat and frequent critic of his own party—said that “our globe-trotting president needs to stop and take a break and quit gallivanting all around. I think Rahm Emanuel ought to get some Gorilla Glue and put it in that chair in the Oval Office and say, ‘Sit here awhile.’” He also said the nation is "spending like Paris Hilton" and "nationalizing like we're Hugo Chavez."

Zel Miller is the Republican plant in the Democratic Party....kind of like Joe Lieberman with the Republicans. You always have one idiot in the bunch who wants to have his cake and eat it too. The comment was rude and racist, but most of all, it made no sense. Barack Obama has been traveling to repair relations around the world that were damaged by the prior administrations and to take care of "foreign policy" (this is also a part of the presidents job). And in the U.S. he still works (palm pilot, computer, etc) while visiting areas in this country to see what it is that needs to be done. Wow we actually have a president that wants to make informative decisions by seeing things first hand and people complain. Remember it was Bush that spent 3/4 of his term on vacation (not working--partying with the good ole' boys, fishing and playing golf).
