iPhone App Offers School Shooter Game

Critics wonder how, why Apple approved

Share

(Newser) – A new iPhone game that glorifies school shootings somehow got through the Apple screeners, PC World reports. “Zombie School,” from the just-as-politically-incorrect company Retarded Arts, lets players pick off “zombie” cheerleaders, principals, and quarterbacks from atop a “zombie shooting tower.” Worse, adds TechCrunch, is the fact that the developer is touting the game on forums by pretending to be a user who was “shocked” at a game “promoting school shooting.”

When the zombies actually DO come, they'll be moaning a different tune. Reply

I agree, we haven't prepared our children enough for the coming zombie apocalypse. They need to be prepared to kill they ones they know.

Reminds me of the Muslim Massacre debacle. The only difference is that that game was a satire of conservative Christians. Somehow, people managed to take a game where every Muslim wants to murder you and Osama Bin Ladin shoots fireballs out of his mouth and flies as an earnest attack on Muslims. The difference between that game and this game, of course, is that Zombie School made the unfortunate choice of releasing on a content controlled platform. No one should be censored because what they create makes people BAAWWWW, but these Zombie School idiots (and they are idiots) knew the risks. Reply

I have yet to see any statistics linking violent video games with real world violence. Yeah, this is a dumb idea for a game, but should it get so much attention from 3 high-traffic websites? Probably not. Reply
