(Newser) – The 65 children who were denied entrance to a Philadelphia swim club are going to Disney World instead, thanks to Tyler Perry. The playwright “wanted to do something nice for them and let them know that for every negative experience, there are people out there who want them to succeed regardless of the color of their skin,” his publicist tells CNN. Elsewhere:

  • Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jamie Kennedy got engaged on a whim at Kennedy’s Laugh Factory performance Saturday night, the New York Post reports.

  • Britney Spears’ father is ready to give up his conservatorship of the singer, sources tell TMZ. He plans to ask the court to review the terms after her tour ends, and a judge will make the final decision. Meanwhile, Spears’ ex Kevin Federline—and her two sons—may star in a new reality show, E! reports.
  • Despite his night with Star reporter Kate Major, reality dad Jon Gosselin was back with 22-year-old Hailey Glassman by the next day—and sources tell the New York Daily News she’s moved to the city to be closer to him. “They looked deliriously happy,” says one witness. “They kept stopping to make out—and they made out a lot—but they were really cute together.”

If only he treated his actors and writers with the respect he showed these kids. Instead he underpays and disrespects those who create the content that makes him his fortune.

Folks suffer injustices all the time, too bad most never make print. If it assuages any latent racist feeling Perry might carry, I suppose this is a good thing - otherwise, this is just PR

Too bad Perry had to share this story with these losers. He deserved more than a paragraph, editors.
