Fox Lashes Health Pick as as 'Too Fat to Serve'

Share

(Newser) – Fox News ripped into President Obama's choice for surgeon general yesterday for being too fat for the job. "Enough fat for my next guest to say 'fat chance' for Dr. Regina Benjamin to even be considered," said host Neil Cavuto. The guest? Not a public health expert or even a politician, but a Denver gym owner wearing a "No Chubbies" T-shirt, notes Talking Points Memo.

"Would you want the head of the Fed Reserve to be a guy in a cardboard box?" asked gym rat Michael Karolchyk, who berates the "obese" Benjamin for "being lazy and making poor food choices." Talking Points Memo notes that Cauto's gym, notorious for cage dancers and a co-ed sauna, was raided by the IRS and shut down earlier this year. The blog also notes: "I don't remember C. Everett Koop being svelte. But then he wasn't black or a woman."

Where was this dude when we decided that the IRS chief didn't have to understand taxes? And wow, FOX is basically the lowbrow version of the Daily Show if they invited him. Reply

No, seriously...isn't Geithner's incompetence much more important than the SG's apparently contradictory lifestyle?

And that's why Biden admired the Ukranian women. I guess he was glad to be out of a country where 66% of women are either obese or overweight.
