(Newser) – Lindsey Graham intends to vote for Sonia Sotomayor’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, Talking Points Memo reports. "I believe she is well qualified,” said the senator, one of her more aggressive questioners. "She's definitely more liberal than a Republican would have chosen, but I do believe elections have consequences." President Obama "deserves some deference on my part," Graham said.

And what of Sotomayor’s “wise Latina” comment? "The speeches are troubling,” Graham said, “but, you know what, I've given some speeches that may have been troubling to those on the other side.”

isnt it possible that graham actually means what he says? i thought his comment sounded very sensible and reasonable, and i'm inclined to believe he meant it and isnt just courting votes. and what he said is something we should all keep in mind - our guy might not win, but you still have to play the game with the guy who does. you can play nice and be a gracious loser or winner, or you can sulk and ruin the game for everyone else. graham is choosing to be a good sport, and i think that's a great example to set!

Lindsey Graham has rediscovered the idea of "Country First"? Who next, I wonder ... perhaps Sarah Palin??

Lindsey Graham understands that Sotomayer, a lifelong opportunist, votes on the side of corporations over working people time after time. That's good enough for a swine like Graham.
