Thug: 'Suicidal Victim Paid Me to Kill Him'

Manhattan man busted for murder of motivational speaker

(Newser) – A career criminal arrested for the murder of a Long Island self-help guru claims that the man was seeking to commit "suicide by thug," the New York Daily News reports. The suspect told police that motivational speaker Jeff Locker, "a business spiritualist" and father of three, hired tthe convict to kill him so his loved ones could collect the insurance money. Locker was found stabbed and strangled in his car in Harlem.

"I'm not saying what my brother did was right," said the suspect's sister. "He knows he's going to do his time, but this man, Locker, came to Harlem looking for a person to take him out. This man was asking everyone in Harlem to kill him." Police believe the suspect and an accomplice tortured Locker for his bank card PIN before murdering him.
