Angelina Jolie visited a refugee camp near Baghdad today, part of her duties as a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Refugee Agency, People reports. While visiting one displaced family, she asked if they wished to return to their home. "No way," said one daughter, in a reminder of the violence that still plagues Iraq. “Our neighbors returned and their three daughters were killed.”

"The picture in this camp is a rough one, but there are also some people that were able to return home to other safer areas," Jolie told People. "There are returns of displaced people, not a big number but there is progress. This is a moment where things seem to be improving, but Iraqis need a lot of support and help to rebuild their lives."
