Nude Recreation Week is celebrated this month

Share

(Newser) – To mark the 32nd year of Nude Recreation Week, TripAdvisor has put together a list of the top five nude events worldwide, Reuters reports:

  1. World Naked Bike Ride, worldwide, June and July: Riders, advocating cycling over driving, often paint messages on their bodies.
  2. World Record Skinny Dip, across North America, July: This event, hosted by the American Association for Nude Recreation, made “largest number of people skinny dipping at once” a Guinness Book category. The number? More than 12,000.

  1. Nude Beach Olympics, Australia, January: The games celebrate Maslin Beach’s place as first official nude beach down under.
  2. Running of the Nudes, Spain, July: PETA hosts this event in Pamplona to protest the cruelty of bullfighting—runners, though mostly naked, don bull horns.
  3. Burning Man, Nevada, August and September: 50,000 people come together in the Black Rock Desert to create art, and free-spirited participants often strip down.

This might raise a few eyebrows in the sexually repressed USA-I mean-just yesterday one state-ALABAMA -said they were not going to sell a certain wine since it has a label with a nude female on it-the nude was frompic was shot from the back-and nude art is always a No No in the USA-I like canada and Europe-they're much more comfortable with their bodies and sexuality-no big deal-noi guilt no sin- Reply

Living in Alabama, well, I can't say you're wrong that the U.S. (and the South) in particular allow a bunch of prudes to run the country. Heck, a while back people who sold dildos were arrested for breaking the law.
