Miss South Carolina Teen USA will have a second crack at answering the question that made her an internet laughing stock. Asked why some Americans cannot locate the US on a map, she launched into a rambling response, referring to “US Americans," South Africa and “the Iraq.” She's trying again on this morning's "Today Show," People magazine reports.
“I didn’t do anything wrong,” she told a South Carolina newspaper. “I lost my train of thought.” She added that she “completely misunderstood” the question. The pageant host said he wanted to help her, but was forbidden by contest rules. Despite the gaffe, Miss South Carolina ended as the third runner-up.
