He Can't Say It Like He Wants to Anymore

Share

(Newser) – President Obama has backed off a bit on his “acted stupidly” comments concerning the arrest of black scholar Henry Louis Gates, saying they were not properly “calibrated.” But, aides say, it “was not a slip of the tongue,” Peter Baker writes in the New York Times. “Obama said what he wanted to say. The question is whether presidents can really do that.”

Experts agree that in the Oval Office, loose lips sink issues. “They want to be genuine,” says Bush spokesman Ari Fleischer. “But there’s the recognition that you’re no longer able to muse the way you’re used to.” Already, President Obama has offended Special Olympians and Nancy Reagan. The Gates issue “got a little personal,” erstwhile adviser John Podesta says, “and I suspect we won’t see that happen again."

The fact of the matter is he’s a human being. As gifted and bright and disciplined as he is, every once in a while, he doesn’t use words exactly as he intended. - David Axelrod, on President Obama

Haw. Haw. All the commie-libs here whined about my post last week that basically said the same thing. Barry slipped up an said what was on his little racist mind before his handlers could tone him down. It would be interesting to hear him rant about race when the cameras aren't rolling and the crowds aren't around. BO is a hater, sad but true. Reply

You said nothing close to this, Jayser, and your intolerance is illustrated by calling all those who disagree with you "commie", just as your prejudice and biases (I won't call you racist though I suspect your are) are revealed when you call Barak Obama "racist.")

All people are degrees of imperfection; but have the capacity to be better people if they work on it. Reply
