Rolls-Royce Unveils Budget Limo

(Newser) – Rolls-Royce has good news for cash-strapped millionaires: They won’t have to condescend to buy a Bentley, Time reports. The automaker, known for its gigantic limousines, is about to release the Ghost, a short, sleek four-door sedan priced at a mere $245,000. That’s a sight lower than the $380,000 the company’s flagship Phantom sells for, but up from Bentley’s Continental line of low(er)-priced luxury cars.

Though the Ghost was in the works long before the financial crisis, its timing is fortuitous: Rolls-Royce sales are down 34% this year after a banner 2008. “To have a car like the Ghost [coming out] right now is, of course, ideal,” says Rolls-Royce’s CEO, noting that it’s “less ostentatious, so owners can give the impression that they’re downsizing.”

LOL! downsizing? That's like saying you are trying to save money by shopping at Tiffany's instead of at Cartier. I'm not hatin' - that car looks great, but let's not kid ourselves. Get the higher priced car if you want it and can afford it.
