(Newser) – An 8-month-old fetus was cut from the body of a woman murdered and stuffed in a closet in her Massachusetts apartment, CNN reports. Darlene Haynes, 23, was found wrapped in bedding. A close friend last heard from her days ago when she texted that she was having drinks with an acquaintance at her apartment. Her baby may have survived the attack but would likely need immediate medical attention, according to officials.

The fetus may have survived the attack on its mother, but would likely need immediate medical attention, officials said.
