CNN Kills Ad Ripping Birther Dobbs

(Newser) – A media watchdog ad attacking CNN anchor Lou Dobbs for his "racially charged" support of conspiracy theorists who question President Obama's birth certificate is all set to run tomorrow on CNN. But there's fat chance you'll ever see it on CNN. Five of the six cable providers who sold ad time to Media Matters rejected the ad for CNN.

"CNN retains the right to object to any ad whose purpose is to attack CNN or our employees," a spokeswoman told Politico. Not to worry: the ad will run on Fox and MSNBC, and has already been widely viewed on YouTube.

There are extremists on both sides and I have dealt with a few on the left since the death of my wife. I am spending mass time speaking with Democrats as well as Republicans and I see a wide range almost daily......The trouble is it takes only 1 to do something insane and that is the point it is all coming to...I have witnessed via TV as a child the assignation of President John Kennedy, and I never wish to see that again but the Secret Service is dealing with this insanity daily and every bit of the trash is caused by race. They can deny it all they wish but it is racial bias which pushes this insanity forward.......I went to an avid republicans office 2 days ago, in his office is a stack of white supremacy leaflets a rebel flag and two guns, let me say I was very glad to leave that office and still be breathing, skin head doesn't come close to that republicans description....Obama being elected to office I fear has given the the Racists a stronger position within the Republican party and even the ones who are not racists do not know who actually is leading them down this path, they just blindly follow....how sad

I don't know the answer to that question even though I faithfully took part in the newser Facebook discussion group that dealt with "Infractions and flagging." I am guessing he has been banned, and that our 'anonanon" spammer today was (him.) C_k never showed up at Facebook, though the newser employee who emailed me and invited me said that (he) had been invited when I inquired. Several participants there wanted him banned. Have you noticed that Jayster999 is gone today as well. I argued only for making the policies very clear and enforcing them fairly. We were promised some new policy beginning today, but the final email message today from the newser corporate "voice" simply thanked us and revealed nothing about any changes. I can't see any on the website. I'm left very dissatisfied with the process, and with the site itself. I'd be tempted to try ending my addiction by going cold turkey, but actually I think the newser overlords would like to get rid of me. And they can easily do so, if they make me the Ombudsperson (volunteer and unpaid.) I could no longer post comments on the site, but would try to represent the interests of the users of the site. If I wanted to go and f*** with trolls I could always go to Daily Beast or Huffpo. Sounds like a win/win to me.

This birther thing is ridiculous. no more than Palin being considered as someone qualified for any office. You don't get air time unless you've got a respectable position -- or if lots of people are talking about you. Letting birthers continue to incoherently ramble on and on does spread their message. It's dummies talking to more dummies, as someone else said, and these dummies go to political meetings and consume time there too. The media should air the issue succinctly, present the results of their investigation (there is no "documentation" issue), and them move on.

See, when you give a movement like the Birthers national air time you embolden them and possibly others such as yourself because you believe "Black or not, he is a scoundrel" and you've had enough and you're going to do something about it. Bravo- Lou Dobbs and all others who believe that U.S. Constitution should be respected and the U.s. Pres must be a "natural born citizen". If Obama violated this aspect of the Constitution- then he thinks he he above the law and the Constitution- if so he is a very dangerous man indeed. All he needs to do is produce a certified copy of his official U.S. birth certificate. Why doesn't he? The "birthers" questioning of his legitimacy is reasonable, justified and common sense. What is he hiding? We already see him kow-towing to every vile despot on the face of the earth.
