Law would limit access to Obama's birth certificate

(NEWSER) - Fed up with the constant pestering from birthers, Hawaii's legislature today voted in favor of a bill that would allow the state to ignore any repeat requests to see Barack Obama's birth certificate. Linda Lingle, would carve out an exception to the Hawaii's normal public records law, allowing officials to skip all kinds of duplicate requests from the same organization or person, including those for the birth certificate. The network conducted an investigation, and talked to the Republican former director of Hawaii's Department of Health. A state law let her examine Obama's actual birth certificate, which is stored in a vault. It is "absolutely authentic," she says. "He was absolutely born here in the state of Hawaii." Journalist says he misspoke, never talked to the governor at all

(NEWSER) - Hawaii's governor never said he couldn't find President Obama's birth certificate, says the journalist who said otherwise last week . In fact, celebrity journalist Mike Evans now says that he hasn't even talked to Gov. Neil Abercrombie since he took office. Evans' excuse? Radio fatigue. “I was on 34 radio stations that morning. That was the only station where I said, instead of saying ‘the hospital said there’s no birth certificate’ I misspoke and said Neil said that,” Evans told Fox News . “I misspoke and I apologize for that. Bill requires Obama to show birth certificate to be on 2012 ballot

(NEWSER) - The Arizona House has given its initial blessing to a bill that would require Barack Obama to show his birth certificate before he can be put on the ballot in 2012, the Arizona Republic reports. The House voted 31 to 22 to add the so-called “birther bill” as an amendment to an unrelated Senate bill. Similar laws have also been proposed in Florida, Oklahoma and Missouri. More»
